The Italian government reported that 119 people died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, while 669 new Covid-19 positives were recorded, but five regions did not have any new cases of the disease.
Civil Protection reported in a bulletin that 119 people died, down from the 130 reported on Friday, to bring the total since the start of the pandemic to 32,735.
In any case, in a marked decrease in the epidemiological curve, five autonomous regions and provinces (Sardinia, Calabria, Valle d’Aosta, Bolzano and Sicily) did not record any new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, while others two (Abruzzo and Umbria) had only one patient.
Of the new infections, 441 occurred in the northern region of Lombardy, which concentrates 44% of the current 57,752 positives throughout the country.
Italy thus remains in the gradual exit from the quarantine in force since March 10, by which on Monday the 18th it opened businesses and bars across the country, and is preparing to enable the arrival of tourism from the European Union (EU ) without compulsory isolation, as well as for the authorization of internal movements between regions of equal risk, as of June 3.
