Ua certain idea of collapse hangs over Rome today. After a hypermedia trench warfare that lasted for weeks, former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi decided to put an end to the political fog that was paralyzing the peninsula and to finally reveal his real intentions. During a press conference on Wednesday evening, the leader of “Italia Viva” (almost 3% of voting intentions) announced the resignation of his two ministers, thus decreeing the end of the current Conte executive.
A strategy that is both erratic and diehard which, according to a political dramaturgy that Renzi masters very well, today leaves the peninsula in disbelief and institutional instability.
