Fox’s X-Men got off to a good start, however, things got really bad with the final installments. The studio started a different stage with X-Men: First Class – 87% and then reached wonder with X-Men: Days of Future Past – 91%; James McAvoy enjoyed this job and appreciates the time he spent on set, however, he indirectly suggests that X-Men: Apocalypse – 48% and X-Men: Dark Phoenix – 29% are not good. Those last two films were crushed by audiences and critics, and probably not even the actors like them.

On Apocalypse The X-Men must face the first and most powerful mutant in the universe, who has accumulated the powers of many other mutants, becoming an immortal and invincible being; After awakening from a dream of thousands of years, he recruits a group of pupils, including Magneto, to cleanse humanity and create a new world order over which he will reign. On Dark phoenix the heroes face their most fearsome and powerful enemy: one of their own, Jean Gray.
Both films have severe scripting problems, especially the second, whose third act feels like a completely different movie from the one started, as if the writers have purposely sabotaged it. For its part, James mcavoy yes I enjoy with X Men First generation and X-Men: Days of Future Past, and mentions them in his recent Comicbook interview as the best thing he did during his time on the X-Men. Perhaps you prefer to leave in the past tense Apocalypse and Dark phoenix:
I like to do good things, and when I was asked to play Charles for the first time, it was a good thing. It was good writing and I was excited. If people offer me good writing, I’ll always be excited, but I feel like I had a good ending with Charles and I was able to explore some really good things, particularly in the first two movies that I did with him as a character. So if my time is up, I’m happy with the time I spent and the time they gave me, and if good writing comes along and people want to do things with me, I’ll always be open to that, but it has to be good.

The X-Men ended badly in the universe created by Fox. By the time the saga concluded, the studio had already been bought by The Walt Disney Company; now the great kingdom Marvel is located under the hands of the mouse, who manages the most successful superhero movies and series in the industry, a monopoly in which competition is something undesirable and in which superhero cinemas is positioned as the law from Hollywood.
The entry of the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is something that everyone has been waiting for, however, Kevin Feige is taking his time to get it right. In the past, the executive producer has talked about the appearance of these characters in the franchise, something that he is planning meticulously and consciously. At the moment stage 4 of the MCU is active, introducing new characters or extending the history of several acquaintances; but the X-Men are nowhere to be seen. It will be a while until we hear from them.
The next Marvel movie is Eternals, an adventure that will introduce an entirely new team of superheroes, powerful beings who will make a difference in the coming years of the Avengers. After numerous delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the film will hit theaters on November 5, a couple of months later we will surely see it on Disney Plus.
