Listen to “Let It Be”, Matt Berninger’s captivating and melancholic new song – Latest News, Breaking News, Top News Headlines

If there is an artist capable of touching the most melancholic fibers of music, that’s definitely Matt Berninger. Either with The National or in his stage as a soloist, the composer has that ability to captivate us with his work. This is how he did it in 2020 with his album Serpentine Prison and will continue to give flight to his work with more launch now.

The singer takes him fully into 2021 with a song titled “Let It Be” that will make you skinny with its soft melody and will make you reflect with a lyric that talks about self-sabotage behavior that we sometimes can’t shake.

Matt Berninger and his solo project

Yes, we know that 2020 was a difficult year for the music industry – and others, of course – but several artists did their best to carry out various projects. And so for examples, even though there were no live events or tours or anything like that, Matt Berninger took the opportunity to establish his own project.

The Cincinnati-born musician released in October last year Serpentine Prison, his solo debut which was also produced by the sensational and legendary multi-instrumentalist Booker T Jones. The album received generally good reviews from the specialized critics, showing the great compositional and musical quality of the work.

“It made me feel happy and optimistic, but maybe someone else thinks otherwise, I think that’s the point of leaving a clear message… If you connect with the public on an almost chaotic emotional level, and you recognize yourself as such, someone who has fears and dreams, I think that could be the message, that we are all united by something and that no one is alone“Matt said about his new material in an interview with Sopitas.com that you can read HERE.

A new song on platforms

Well, we are already on our way to 2021 and Matt berninger also wants to enter with everything. Now, the composer gives us a wonderful song entitled “Let It Be” that had only been included in the vinyl version of Serpetine Prison and that now reaches digital platforms for all followers.

This piece begins with a captivating and mind-blowing acoustic guitar and as the track progresses, more instruments join the track to capture us little by little. Regarding the lyric, Matt seems to describe a relationship between two people who gradually detach themselves as a product of the self-sabotage of one of them, which is appreciated in the verse “Sometimes I think that I’m my own worst enemy” (Sometimes I think I am my own worst enemy).

As Consequence of Sound points out, it will be next March 12 when Berningner release the deluxe version of your album on platforms, but until then we leave you the lyric video so you can enjoy this new song.
