Discussions between the UK and the EU to reach a post-Brexit trade deal are continuing. A decision should be made by Sunday.
London and Brussels remain in positions “very distant”
During a dinner in Brussels on Wednesday 9 December, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen had an exchange “franc”. They realized that a ditch “very large” remained between the UK and theEuropean Union.
Discussions must continue in the coming days
The two leaders therefore considered that the post-Brexit must continue, according to British government sources. They therefore gave themselves until Sunday, December 13 to decide the fate of the talks. The negotiating teams will try to resolve the essential issues.
