Three peacekeepers were killed on Wednesday January 13 by jihadists, announced the UN in Mali (Minusma).
In a statement, theUN at Mali (Minusma) reported a jihadist attack against a convoy of Blue helmet Ivorians that occurred last Wednesday north of Bambara Maoudé, on the axis between Douentza (center) and Timbuktu, located to the north-west of Mali.
It is stated in this UN press release that: “During a security operation, a company of the Minusma struck (…) improvised explosive devices (IED) before being the target of fire by unidentified armed men “.
The attackers fled after the response of the Blue helmet. According to preliminary reports, at the end of this jihadist attack, three Blue helmet died and six others were injured, reports 20 minutes.
