In recent years we have seen fans of entertainment franchises use social media to support different causes: one of the most notable examples was the campaign by Zack Snyder fans calling for his Justice League cut – 41%, and among the worst examples we find the negative user reviews of Captain Marvel – 60%, because without having seen it they qualified it badly as revenge for the statements of the leading actress. Now history repeats itself in the worst sense, because some Marvel fans are calling Dune wrong – 80%, the new Denis Villeneuve.

A few days ago the Canadian filmmaker became a trend because in an interview with El Mundo he said that too many Marvel films were just a copy-paste (copy and paste) of other films. As happened to Martin Scorsese when he said in 2019 that for him what Marvel was doing was not cinema, Villeneuve was rained with criticism from fans, and his anger was obviously going to manifest itself on sites where users can rate movies and series .
We do not know if it will be a massive movement of fans as it was with Captain Marvel, which received a huge amount of negative reviews on sites like Rotten Tomatoes and ., or if only a handful of fans will attack Dune Out of sheer resentment, but screenshots of MCU fan reviews have begun to be shared on social media, apparently on Letterbox. You can read some of the reviews below:
… the movie may be nice to watch, but narratively speaking, it’s a disaster … the worst copy-paste ever. Denis needs to improve his skills instead of criticizing other Marvel movies.
Dune is painful to watch … boring, humorless, one of the worst copy-paste ever made. It seems that Villeneuve wants to direct a Marvel movie. The MCU is the largest movie franchise ever created. Anytime someone criticizes the MCU it’s usually because they want to be in it or because they haven’t had a chance to do so yet. Look at Ethan Hawke.
Denis Villeneuve is a king of copy paste… but the original film is miles away. A big, beautiful mess … the worst remake ever made.
This movie is horrible… it was so confusing, so boring. This was a violent and miserable experience that only got worse as it progressed. The old Dune movie is 200% great. Denis couldn’t make a good movie even if he copied the old one. Denis is even incompetent to copy and paste.

Despite the above, Dune it has had much better luck being evaluated by specialized critics, who for the most part gave it a passing grade and gave it very flattering words. Other people who have seen it in theaters have also expressed their excitement about seeing the sequels.
Dune is a 1965 novel written by Frank Herbert that deals with a desert planet from which an element is extracted to extend the life of humans and to travel through outer space. It was a bestseller and tried to be brought to the big screen by Chilean Alejandro Jodorowsky, and a few years later it hit theaters with David Lynch.
With Dune, Villeneuve hopes to do justice to the legacy of Frank Herbert and kick off a successful sci-fi franchise. The film only covers half of the novel and its sequel will tell the second part. Dune features performances by Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Jason Momoa, among others.
