An unresponsive body was found Sunday in Key Biscayne that matched the description of a paddle surfer who had gone missing several days earlier, Coast Guard officials said.
Douglas Tellam, 57, was reported missing by his wife around 10:30 a.m. Friday. Miami-Dade Fire Department and Customs and Border Protection were assisting Coast Guard authorities in the search, NBC 6 reported.
On Sunday, authorities said an unresponsive person had been found in the water and matched Tellam’s description.
Miami-Dade police were investigating the scene. A Coast Guard rescue team provided medical attention.
