New York : Amazon to offer 3,500 new jobs in six US cities

The new hires will support a variety of businesses including the grocery and computer divisions.

Amazon announced Tuesday the hiring of 3,500 new jobs in six of its technology centers in the United States.

The new hires will be distributed in personnel for their technological and corporate areas in the cities of Dallas, Detroit, Denver, Phoenix, San Diego and New York where the majority of these job sources will be located. The company also informed that it will invest $ 1.4 billion in new offices in those cities.

The company’s hires add to the surge in new jobs on the West Side of the Big Apple. Amazon plans to add 600 tech and corporate jobs in Dallas, 100 jobs in Detroit, 100 jobs in Denver, 500 jobs in Phoenix and 200 jobs in San Diego. In total, the company plans to hire 3,500 more people in these technology centers.

“Thanks to the hard work of New Yorkers, we have bent the coronavirus curve, achieving and maintaining one of the lowest infection rates in the country, and this significant investment from Amazon underscores that we are on our way to rebuilding a planet stronger than ever. ”Said the governor of New York in a statement Tuesday Andrew Cuomo. “We have turned New York City into a true technology hub.”

The e-commerce giant abandoned the HQ2 project in New York, it is developing a campus for 25,000 employees in the Washington, DC area.
