After 21 years of a successful career in which he won absolutely every possible competition, Iker Casillasgoalkeeper Real Madrid, Porto and the Spain Selection, announced this Tuesday his retirement from the courts.
During his career, the Spanish goalkeeper had a healthy sporting rivalry with the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and both are considered to be the most important archers of their generation. After Iker announced his retirement, the still active Buffon took his networks and sent an emotional message to his former rival.
“They say that competition makes us better than others, but we are not perfect in front of ourselves. Perhaps this futile search for perfection is what made us who we are. Thanks Iker, without you, everything would have been less meaningful, ”Buffon wrote.
In addition to the emotional words of the Italian goalkeeper, the soccer world surrendered to Casillas, with players and clubs from all latitudes sending him messages, including Cruz Azul.
