New York : Lupillo Castañeda and former Cruz Azul players demonstrate in support of “Billy” Álvarez

They seek help from President López Obrador to recover corporate facilities

Amid the legal problems facing the president of the Cooperative and the soccer team Cruz Azul, Guillermo Álvarez Cuevas, has found support in his collaborators, retirees, former players and the current staff of the Machine, who have shown confidence in his innocence after being accused of money laundering and diversion of resources.

Last week, the police intervened the facilities of the Cruz Azul corporate, located south of Mexico City, to carry out searches and inquiries, this after the request of an opposition group to “Billy” that obtained a court order to take control of the offices.

During the morning of this Monday, a group of cooperative members and former players of the celestial as Guadalupe Castañeda, went to the zócalo of the Mexican capital to ask the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador to help them recover the corporate.

More than a thousand people gathered at the place to demand that the partners José Antonio Marín Gutiérrez and Víctor Manuel Velázquez Rangel, presidents of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Council, cease to have control, in addition to wanting to reverse said court order.

Rodolfo Montoya and Rafael ToribioEx-footballers of the Machine in the 70s, were also present, in addition to members of the “La Sangre Azul” club, who for years have followed Cruz Azul in his matches.
