Security cameras captured a gunman firing in broad daylight on a New York street, a scene that has become increasingly common in the city.
The video was released yesterday by the NYPD and corresponds to a shooting in The Bronx near a crowded basketball tournament. It shows several people fleeing and then a young man turns around, pulls a gun from his bag and opens fire as passersby around him try to get out of the way.
It happened around 8:10 p.m. on Aug. 3 near St. Ann’s Avenue and East 147th St in Mott Haven, according to police.
More than 100 people had gathered in a nearby park to watch the basketball tournament when shots were heard, authorities said.
Four people were shot, although they all survived, Pix11 noted. No arrests have been announced.
In a similar incident, an 11-year-old girl was savagely beaten in Harlem during a basketball game last weekend.
