The award ceremony of the Oscar awards is about to take place this coming Sunday, March 12, 2023, and with it, a great question remains in the air, as every year: What will be the feature film that will win the statuette in the Best Film category?
This is the most longed for recognition in the union and from a few years to date the number of nominees within this list is increasing.
For the casual viewer of premieres in movie theaters and streaming platforms, this list of nominations is usually the highest annual reference for which films should not be missed, beyond situations that occur at the ceremony such as the incident with Will Smith.
Regardless of whether they win the Oscar or not, the simple fact of having been nominated already represents a unique distinction, being part of a list with stories of all kinds for all tastes.
Fortunately, the vast majority of these movies are available to watch on some digital platform, so we have decided to put together a guide and list of movies that you can watch from the comfort of your home. But let’s go in parts starting with the most basic:
These are the nominees for Best Film at the 2023 Oscars
- All Quiet on the Western Front
- Avatar 2: The Way of Water
- The Banshees of Inisherin
- Elvis
- Everything Everywhere All At Once
- The Fablemans
- tar
- Top Gun: Maverick
- Triangle of Sadness
- Women Talking
The list is genuinely extensive and in it we can find films of all kinds, from their production history and release trajectory to their theme and origin.
For example, the remake/readaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front is a film that ended its exclusive distribution rights in Netflix. And that is just the platform where it can be seen.
For its part, Avatar 2: The Way of Water is on the billboard in theaters around the world, still accumulating tickets. Although, it is a fact that in the end it will be part of the Disney + catalog.
Without a release date for streaming services but active on the billboard are The Fablemans, Tár, Triangle of Sadness and Women Talking.
The Banshees of Inisherin It is a curious case, since for some reason it was also added to the Disney Plus catalog in the United States. But we don’t know if it will reach Latin America as well.
Elvis On the other hand, it has already been a few weeks since it arrived at the HBO Max service, where it can be seen in its long duration. Completing the spectrum we have the cult film Everything Everywhere All At Once which can be seen for free now on Amazon Prime Video.
Top Gun: Maverick will be a curious case, since it will have its commercial run for rent on practically all digital platforms, although right now it can be obtained from Amazon Prime Video paying, or free in Mexico for those who have the Claro Video combo with Paramount Plus.
