The Colombian Julian Quinones signed this Friday his first double in the Atlas on the beaten 0-3 at Necaxa’s home in the continuation of the ninth day of the Apertura 2021 tournament of Mexican soccer. The Argentinian July furch completed the triumph of the red and black of Argentine coach Diego Cocca who climbed to third place in the Apertura standings with 16 points, four behind the leader America.
In the first half, Necaxa dominated possession of the ball with 61%, but suffered to create danger in the goal of Colombian Camilo Vargas. The Atlas was accurate and at minute 23 the association of the red-black forwards began when Furch took advantage of a bad defensive clearance and with a header he assisted Quiñones, who with a scissors converted the 0-1. The visitors let Necaxa continue as the dominator of the ball and at 35 they again took advantage of an error by their rival, now in an exit in which Quiñones made a wall with Furch, who with his right leg decreed the 0-2 . With two minutes left in the second half, Diego Barbosa finished off a ball in the area that a defender, in an attempt to reject, allowed Quiñones with his head to score 0-3.
Necaxa came close to scoring with a pair of header by Uruguayan Fabricio Formiliano, Argentine Mauro Quiroga and a shot by Luis García, all of them stopped by Camilo Vargas.
