During her audition for the reality show, the young Puerto Rican made a special segment as a Univision presenter, where she spoke about the fears of people who have been victims of abandonment by their biological parents.
In the one-minute television segment, Carrillo addressed the sexual abuse suffered by some young people who are temporarily placed in foster care.

Who is Raishmar Carrillo?
Raishmar Carrillo, a 25-year-old Puerto Rican, is a personal trainer by profession and is based on the ‘Isla del Encanto’.
Carrillo studied Social Communication and is currently writing his own biography, as he announced on his Instagram profile.
Participated in an important beauty pageant in Puerto Rico
Raishmar Carrillo is a well-known face in beauty pageants, this because he managed to sneak into the finalists of Miss World Puerto Rico 2021 that was held in April in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Carrillo represented the town of Río Grande in the Miss World Puerto Rico 2021. Although it is true that she did not win the crown, the young Puerto Rican managed to win the challenge of “Beauty with Purpose” by recounting her experience as an orphan, growing up in foster homes that were assigned by the Department of the Family.
“The Miss World Puerto Rico platform has been a blessing for me. It prompted me to tell my story, after so much postponing and doubting whether it would make a difference for others to know where I come from. And yes, it does. Because they are my roots and from that same pain, the woman that I am today is born ”, confessed Raishmar Carrillo in an interview with the newspaper Primera Hora.

The life story of Raishmar Carrillo has touched all Hispanics in the United States. At her audition at Nuestra Belleza Latina 2021, she made it known that she was the victim of sexual abuse by a father figure in one of the foster homes assigned to her.
“My surrogate mother’s partner had taught me that sexual abuse was play and was normal. I grew up doing things that a child should not do. She already knew that if she said what was happening, they would remove her, and she already understood that it might be worse than staying there, “said Carrillo when speaking about the sexual abuse she suffered.
“I grew up all my childhood thinking that I was a bad person, but now as an adult I know that it was mistreated and that it was not my fault. To say that my story does not define me is to avoid reality, but it will not limit me. My story is my beginning, but it is not my end ”, stated the pre-selected one of the Univision beauty competition.
Has its own digital show
“Tales of an orphan” is the name of Raishmar Carrillo’s digital show, an emotional project in which he narrates episode after episode all the experiences he lived throughout his first years of life in the various foster homes assigned to him.
Since he came of age, Carrillo has been living independently after having the power to choose everything he wants to do with his life. However, the memories of her childhood and adolescence continue to accompany her to this day.
