15 minutes. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, personal lawyer for outgoing US President Donald Trump, was hospitalized after learning that he had contracted coronavirus on Sunday, the television network reported Monday CNN.
Giuliani, 76, was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington DC, the same Sunday, revealed a source familiar with his situation, cited by the CNN.
More details about Giuliani’s health are unknown and it is not known when he tested positive for the disease.
Giuliani’s health status
It was Trump himself who broke the news that Rudy Giuliani had caught the coronavirus.
“Rudy Giuliani, by far the best mayor in New York history, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt elections (by far!) In US history, tested positive for the China virus. Get well soon Rudy , We will move on !!! “Trump wrote on Sunday in his account of Twitter.
On November 20, the son of the president’s lawyer, Andrew Giuliani, announced on Twitter that he had been infected. However, she said she was only experiencing mild symptoms and was “following the proper protocols.”
That same day, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the US president, tested positive for coronavirus.
Trump’s allegations without evidence
During the last weeks Giuliani has been visiting different parts of the country defending Trump’s allegations without evidence that there was a fraud in the elections of last November 3 that Democrat Joe Biden won and whose result the outgoing president did not accept.
Giuliani appeared numerous times giving press conferences or speaking in public hearings before state legislators without a face mask.
Last night, the Arizona Legislature, where Giuliani appeared at the beginning of last week, announced that it was closing these days due to the existing concern about the extension of COVID-19.
The United States is the country in the world most affected by the pandemic with more than 14.7 million cases and more than 282,000 deaths, according to the independent count from Johns Hopkins University.
In recent days, the US has experienced record numbers of daily hospitalizations, infections and deaths.
In October, Trump himself became infected with the coronavirus and spent three days in a health facility outside of Washington DC.
