The 7th generation of consoles, in which Sony participated with its PlayStation 3, is remembered by users of this company for the various exclusive proposals produced by its internal studios. Precisely one of the best facts is Puppeteer, but sadly it did not get the attention it deserved. The franchise has been quiet in recent years, but its creator would like to bring it back.
Puppeteer is a platform title run by SIE Japan Studio, one of the in-house developers of PlayStation that was very active during the PlayStation 3 cycle, as it worked on several original IPs and Gavin Moore, director of the studio that recently took over of Demon’s Souls for PlayStation 5, he participated in it as a director.
In case you missed it: What is a Sneakerhead and why could Reebok x Tom & Jerry make one for you?
Well, on Twitter a user commented to Moore that it is time to develop a remastering of Puppeteer, taking advantage of the fact that a new console is already on the market. Interestingly, Moore not only agreed, but mentioned that he would like to do Puppeteer 2 instead, as he believes “there are many stories to tell.” Unfortunately, and as usual, Gavin Moore made it clear that it is not his decision, so Sony and PlayStation should first give the green light to a similar project.
Yes but that is not my decision. I’d rather do a Puppeteer 2. There are many stories to be told.

What is Puppeteer?
In case you are unfamiliar with Puppeteer, let us tell you that it is a high-quality platforming title that many consider to be one of the most underrated on PlayStation 3. Many attribute this to being the case because the adventure platformer was released in 2013 , 2 months before the arrival of the PlayStation 4, which caused that it was not paid much attention.
As for the game, we inform you that it tells the story of Kutaro, a puppet that can interact in the levels with the help of scissors and everything is presented as if it were a theatrical performance or puppet theater, in which the characters are puppets. Throughout the adventure it will be possible to visit various places and the mechanics lie in the use of puppet heads that allow you to interact with the elements and characters of these settings and discover interesting stories. We gave it a 9.1 in our review, so if you get a chance to play it, we highly recommend doing so.
What do you think about this? Did you play Puppeteer? Would you like PlayStation to authorize the development of a new installment of the series? Tell us in the comments.
Since we are talking about SIE Japan Studio, we take the opportunity to tell you that she is the developer in charge of the Astro franchise and her most recent premiere was Astro’s Playroom (Team Asobi) and Demon’s Souls. Recently this study has attracted attention because it lost important creatives and reports indicate that due to Sony’s lack of interest in the Japanese market, its creative strength could be affected.
Puppeteer debuted in 2013 exclusively for PlayStation 3, you can find more about him by visiting his file or by checking our written review.
