The debt of companies in Spain soars with the coronavirus crisis
Jan 15 (.) – The economic fragility generated by the coronavirus health crisis has caused a notable increase in the indebtedness assumed by companies, according to a report by the Bank of Spain published on Friday. The Financial Accounts of the Spanish Economy show that the Consolidated debt of companies and households reached 1,643 trillion in the third quarter of 2020, a sum equivalent to 143.2% of gross domestic product (GDP), up from the 1,622 trillion registered a year earlier (131.3% of GDP).
