About the game
From frog zombies to gigantic larvae, and everything in between, the Kingdom is fraught with danger. Players will have to master a series of deadly skills, such as parries, ranged attacks and gruesome executions, to be victorious. Each of the many bosses presents its own combat challenge, and there are also a wide variety of weapons and equipment to help the heroes, each with its own characteristics; heavy armor may provide better protection, but can you afford to slow down your dodge roll? While axes can be very powerful, a fast and agile spear benefits from a longer range.
Lead artist and animator Daniel Robinson was inspired to create Tails of Iron thanks to the personalities of his own rats, which sadly did not survive the game’s completion. “During development, the rats were always there to keep my morale up and spark my creativity,” he says. He explains that “Redgi is the main character because he was the bravest and most loyal rat in our pack. The other characters are based on Redgi’s real siblings (as illustrated in the box below). Robinson also wants to change the social perception of rats in general. He states: “I really wanted to make a game about rats because the media and the general public perceive them very negatively, but they are the most affectionate and affectionate creatures.”
