Fans of the ‘Teen Wolf’ series are celebrating, as something they have been waiting for a while has finally been confirmed: the series that ended four years ago will return with a film for Paramount +. This series was based on the homonymous film starring Michael J. Fox in the eighties and lasted a total of six seasons. Both the actors of the series and its creator, Jeff Davis, already met last year in a special event organized by the chain in full confinement, something that had a great impact among its fans.
This movie as a revival of the werewolves series is powered by the creator himself, Jeff Davis. According to Variety, this project is part of an agreement that Davis has signed with MTV Entertainment Studios, the production company behind the fiction. Thus, he will be in charge of writing the script for the film as well as its executive production. This revival of the series has not been the only project that results from this agreement, since Davis will also be in charge of producing a new series based on the saga of books’ Wolf Pack ‘, also supernatural, and the reboot of’ Aeon Flux ‘, which was already adapted to the cinema in a film starring Charlize Theron.
At the moment we do not know many more details about this revival, but we can take a look at this first official synopsis To whet your appetite: “In the ‘Teen Wolf’ movie, a terrible evil has emerged in the town of Beacon Hills. The wolves are howling again, anticipating the arrival of the Banshees, coyote men, hellhounds, kitsunes and all the other shapeshifters inhabit the night. But only a werewolf like Scott McCail, who is no longer a teenager but still an Alpha Wolf, can rally both new allies and old friends to fight what seems like be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they have ever faced. “
The teen series released in 2011 starred Tyler Posey, as Scott McCail, Dylan O’Brien (‘The Maze Runner’), Holland Roden (‘Escape Room 2: You Die to Get Out’), Linden Ashby (‘Iron Man 3’), Tyler Hoechlin (‘Superman & Lois’), Crystal Reed (‘Gotham’), Melissa Ponzio (‘The Walking Dead’), or Colton Haynes (‘Arrow’), among others. The film will be released in 2022, although an exact date or when production will begin is not yet known.
Who will be back in this revival?
Although the official cast of this film has not yet been announced, Jeff Davis claims to be in talks with the original actors to get them back in this movie. Some of them have advanced through their social networks their involvement in this film, uploading a first brief preview of this revival. These are the cases of Tyler Posey himself and some of his co-stars such as Holland Roden (Lydia Martin in the series), Cody Christian, who played Theo, or Colton Haynes, who played Jackson Whittemore.
“Freak out. The howlers are back. These jokes have done nothing else to do,” says the actress.
“Are you ready?”, Says the actor who we have also seen in series like ‘American Horror Story’.
Who has not yet spoken has been Dylan O’Brien, one of the protagonists of the series, but his participation in this project is expected, since he was already at the meeting held last year with the rest of the cast, showing himself willing to participate in a revival that is already a reality. Linden Ashby, who played Stiles’ father on the show, seems to have confirmed that O’Brien will be back because he has promised that there will be more scenes of the two to a fan on Twitter.
