One of the most anticipated films of 2022 is The Batman, by Matt Reeves. As stated it will not happen in the current continuity of the DCEU. In other words, Robert Pattinson’s Batman is not going to be the replacement for the one we’ve seen so far. The director is actually going to show us a younger version of the character who is going to be in his own reality. This will allow DC the freedom to continue this world separately if they wish. So far, a spin-off series has been announced that will focus on the Gotham City police. The possibility that it will be the first of many spin-offs cannot be ruled out, not counting the imminent sequels that will surely occur if it goes well.

To whet our appetite, DC released a new photo in which we can better see Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman. The reality is that it is an image to promote the imminent DC FanDome 2021 (via Comic Book), a virtual event in which a new trailer for The Batman will be released on October 16. In the image in question we can see Selina Kyle with a balaclava mask and a tight leather jacket. In fact, so you don’t have to imagine it, here we leave it for you:
In the previous trailer we got to see a glimpse of the character, it is worth wondering if we will see more of her and her role in the plot in the next trailer of this highly anticipated film. It is very likely that it is. One thing to keep in mind is that this film takes place very early in Bruce Wayne’s career as Batman. For the same reason, many of his villains still do not take the identities for which they are so well known. That is the case with Selina Kyle in the film not yet Catwoman. Actually. This is what the director had said in a promotional video for the film:

Villains are usually some of the most exciting parts of the movies, if not the most exciting. I mean, his gallery of enemies is incredible and what I wanted to do was… What I wanted to see was a Batman movie that wasn’t an origin story, but was in its early days. But that meant that many of the characters that are part of his gallery of villains are in their origins, in a way. So we have a Selina Kyle who is not yet Catwoman.
Of course, it is likely that in the tape we see her on her way to becoming the famous feline thief.
On the other hand, Anne Hathaway, in an interview for Collider, some time ago gave advice to Kravitz for your interpretation of the character:
If I had any advice, it would be literally not to listen to anyone because I think the only way to play that role is to give your own version. We all had different directors and all of our interpretations were specific to the movies they were in, like my Big Witch was specific to Bob Zemeckis and Angelica Huston’s is specific to Nicolas Roeg, and that’s great! And all the Jokers were specific to each director they had, so I don’t think you can get too far into a comparison. And especially when it is not you who does it because your job is to give your thing. And I’m very excited to see what he does with it. I thought it was a perfect choice. You saw the picture of her coming down those stairs, right? Yes, she doesn’t need my advice.
