The best-selling PS5 and Xbox Series X / S games at their launch in Spain

Sony Playstation 5 :

If last week we exclusively offered you the sales data for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S at its launch in Spain, today it is the turn of their games, so let’s review what they were best-selling titles for Xbox Series X / S in the week of its premiere, on November 10, and PS5, which came a little later, on November 19.

Spider-Man Miles Morales was the most successful game on the PS5 premiere

Almost everyone agrees that the PS5 launch catalog has been better than that of PS4, with several quality titles and exclusives from PlayStation consoles, and this is something that has been reflected in sales as you can. see below, with three of the five best-selling titles being Sony productions. These were the five best-selling PS5 games at their launch in Spain, some figures that we offer you are only in physical format:

1. Spider-Man: Miles Morales: 11,900 units
2. Demon’s Souls Remake: 9000 units
3. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – 5,800 units
Four. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – 5,100 units
5. Sackboy: A Big Adventure: 1,300 units

Although all of these games except Demon’s Souls were also released on PS4, these are only the sales of the PS5 versions. So that you can compare, these were the five best-selling PS4 games at launch, for the week of November 29, 2013 (in physical format only):

1. FIFA 14: 18,300 units
2. Call of Duty: Ghosts: 13,000 units
3. Battlefield 4: 10,700 units
Four. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – 7,100 units
5. NBA 2K14: 3,000 units

Between the seven years of difference between the two launches there have been very important changes in the video game industry, such as a digital market that already accounts for almost half of sales in some games, or the total implementation of free-to-play titles that are hugely successful among the general public, such as Fortnite. Thus the five best-selling PS4 games at launch totaled 52,000 units, compared to 33,000 units for PS5, despite being more interesting games, at least from the point of view of the most dedicated players, and more PS5s had been sold (43,000 units) than PS4 (38,000).

Assassin’s Creed Valhala was the best-selling game of the Xbox Series X / S launch

The great criticism that has been made of the new Microsoft consoles is the lack of great titles in their launch, new or exclusive, and this is something that has obviously been reflected in sales and that looks very good if we compare it with the launch of Xbox One in 2013. These were Top 5 Best-Selling Xbox Series X / S Games In Launch Week, on November 10 (physical format only):

1. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: 4,400 units
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War: 2300 units
3. Fortnite: The Last Laughter Bundle: 750 units
Four. Gears Tactics: 400 units
5. Yakuza Like a Dragon: 380 units

These were the Top Five Xbox One Games In the week of its release, November 22, 2013 (physical format only):

1. Ryse: Son of Rome: 6,800 units
2. Forza Motorsport 5: 6,000 units
3. Battlefield 4: 5,150 units
Four. Dead Rising 3: 5100 units
5. Call of Duty: Ghosts – 3,600 units

In 2013, 26,650 games were sold in physical format, compared to 8,230 for Xbox Series X / S, although more consoles were also sold, 15,000 Xbox One against 10,500 for Series X / S, which were sold out in the first days. As we have already explained in the case of PS4, in these seven years there have been important changes in the market, and in the case of Xbox even more so, with a public even more inclined to the digital market, especially since the irruption of a service as Xbox Game Pass.

Beyond the numbers, it is interesting to see how three of the five best-selling games of the Xbox One launch were console exclusive, something that Xbox Series X / S has lacked. The closest thing is the case of Gears Tactics, which was launched a few months ago on PC and has also debuted from the first day on Xbox Game Pass, so it can be said that its sales have not been bad at all.

In the coming days we will continue to offer you in detail the sales figures in Spain for each week, since we are in one of the most exciting times for the video games sector, including the recent Black Friday where there is a huge increase in sales .
