The American television series ‘The Bridgertons’ broke Netflix’s audience record by becoming the most watched premiere in the history of the streaming platform.
This Wednesday, Netflix announced that in the first 28 days after its premiere (on December 25), a total of 82 million “households around the world” have seen this production.
In this way, ‘The Bridgertons’ beat the previous record achieved by the series ‘The Witcher’, released in December 2019 and seen in 76 million homes in its first four weeks, details the Deadline portal.
However, the EFE agency points out that the ‘streaming’ platform has a “controversial” system for counting views, because it is enough for a user to see a specific content for only two minutes for it to count as seen by a household.
Set in the 19th century British Regency era, ‘The Bridgertons’ is based on the eponymous romance novel by American writer Julia Quinn.
