Hogwarts Legacy is the video game of the moment after its launch on February 10 for PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X and computers. One of the wonders of this title is its huge map, which increases the experience of the title.
Some players have already taken notice and noticed how huge the game world is, which is why they have started comparing their map to other acclaimed industry deliverers. The main question is what is the extent of the Hogwarts Legacy map.
Published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label and developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the wizarding world of the 19th century, so it was known that it would have a huge map.
The video game puts players at the center of their own adventures, allowing them to be a new student at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and they will be able to choose their preferred house between Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. So, if it was going to be a title where he was going to live in the footsteps of, say, Harry Potter, the extent of the world of it makes sense.
The size of the map the comparison with other games
According to a report published on the website of 3D Gamesthe youtuber DG VFX, with more than 36 thousand subscribers on his channel, compared the map of the new video game with the open worlds of other installments. Here the figures:
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Jotunheim – 1.2 km²
- Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood – 1.41 km²
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Asgard – 1.55 km²
- Assassin’s Creed Unity Paris – 2.4 km²
- God of War (2018) – 4 km² (pure game area)
- Hogwarts Legacy – 8 km² (pure play area)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man – 11.9 km² (play area only)
As we can see, Hogwarts Legacy has a smaller map than titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man, but it is almost twice the size of God of War (2018).
