In the 3rd season of Cobra Kai, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Maccio) begins a journey of discovery that takes him to Okinawa, the hometown of the Mr miyagi, to learn more about his late teacher.
Daniel-san was a student and friend of Mr. Miyagi from the time they met in 1984 until the master’s death in 2011. In the second installment of the film trilogy, the two traveled to Okinawa to discover the secrets of Miyagi-do karate, a art that as explained in the tape, dates back to the seventeenth century.
Karate Kid 2 tells the story of Miyagi Shimpo Sensei, a fisherman who fell asleep in 1965 from drinking too much sake on the Okinawan coast. He woke up off the coast of China, and 10 years later he returned home with his wife and children, and the secrets of Miyagi’s family karate.
Later, when Daniel opened the Miyagi-do, he taught his students that karate went beyond simple attacks and defense movements. What was a life philosophy, the one instilled in him by his teacher. However, in season 3 of Cobra Kai, LaRusso discovers that, even with 27 years of teaching, he got to know all the secrets of his sensei.
