Seven years have passed since the third installment of ‘The Indestructibles’ came to our screens and after several months rumored the possibility of a fourth installment, we now have its official confirmation, collected by The Hollywood Reporter. This fourth installment of the action saga started by Sylvester Stallone in 2010 has already revealed its first details, including of course its powerful cast.
The new continuation of the saga will bring back, as expected, Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross and Jason Statham, who reprises the role of Lee Christmas. Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture will also reprise their roles from previous films. As new additions, actress Megan Fox, rapper and actor 50 Cent and Tony Jaa have been confirmed. (‘Fast and furious 7’). These three join the four previously mentioned actors. The film will be directed by Scott Waugh, responsible for ‘Need For Speed: The Movie’, although during his career he has stood out more for his work as a stuntman and stuntman.
The film will begin production next October and will have a script by Max Adams, Gregory Poirier and Dave Callaham, responsible for the imminent ‘Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings’ and who was already in charge of writing the script for the first installment with Stallone himself. The film will be produced by Lionsgate and Millenium Media. “It’s great fun bringing these stars together for an action movie without restrictions,” says Jason Constantine, director of Lionsgate, who also says that “the new film will increase the challenges and be the biggest and most impressive adventure yet.” Throughout the three films in the saga we have seen great action film legends parade such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris or Harrison Ford.
Before this sequel was officially confirmed, Stallone himself has already begun to advance details through his own Instagram account. At the beginning of August, the actor published a photo in which we saw him holding a golden ring with a skull, the characteristic accessory that his character, Barney Ross, wears in the first three installments of the saga. The actor accompanied this publication with the following words: “I just finished designing the new ring for ‘The Indestructibles 4’. It’s a bit heavy, but it will definitely put some muscles on your fingertips.”
And what about the spin-off?
This confirmation of a fourth installment of ‘The Indestructibles’ makes us wonder if we will finally see that announced spin-off of the saga, whose rumors suggested that it could star the character of Jason Statham. It was Stallone himself who a few weeks ago announced that this spin-off was underway, again through a publication on his Instagram account in which he advanced the following: “This tattoo had to hurt! Ready to shoot the spin-off of ‘The indestructibles’ (whose working title is ‘Christmas Story’) in October “.
Stallone revealed that the filming of this spin-off would begin in October, the same month in which we have now learned that the production of this fourth installment of ‘Los indestructibles’ will begin. At the moment nothing else has been revealed about this project, but what we can guess is that we will have large doses of action and testosterone for a while.
