The Nothing Ear (2), the alternative to the AirPods Pro 2, are filtered

Nothing, the company founded by Carl Pei, one of the creators of OnePlus, could soon launch the second generation of its noise canceling headphones intended to compete against the AirPods Pro 2: the Nothing Ear (2). At least, this is suggested by a new leak from Smart Prixwhere they have also revealed both the appearance and the main characteristics of this next product that will come with significant internal improvements compared to the Ear (1).

The Nothing Ear (2) yes, they will maintain practically the same design as their previous generation. The London-based firm, therefore, will bet on a completely transparent case and headphones, and with exactly the same format as the Ear (1). However, small internal improvements are expected that will also have a slight impact on the appearance.

The most notable is the relocation of the microphone intended for noise cancellation. In the Ear (1) it is located in the upper area of the headphones, and in the Ear (2) it will be placed right in the upper area of the stem.

Regarding the characteristics, the aforementioned medium affirms that the Nothing Ear (2) will arrive with a personalized active noise cancellation. That is, the user can choose the level of noise cancellation to adapt it to their tastes or needs and decide. They will, of course, keep the transparency mode, which completely disables noise cancellation and allows ambient sound to be heard.

Nothing, on the other hand, will allow you to activate the dual connection in the Ear (2), to be able to connect the headphones to two devices simultaneously. They could also include a personalized equalizer and the possibility of activating a function to search for the headphones in case of loss.

When will Nothing Ear (2) be released?

Nothing Ear (1)

Although there is no specific release date, SmartPrix highlights that the Nothing Ear (2) will arrive before the Nothing Phone (2). Therefore, and taking into account that the Ear (1) were announced in July 2021, it would not be strange to see them announced during the spring of this year.

Regarding the Phone (2), Carl Pei has only confirmed that it will be a more “premium” smartphone than the current model. This, let’s remember, is located in a mid-range range. We can therefore expect more powerful specifications, such as a more advanced processor, a better screen or a higher quality construction, among other improvements.
