Who will succeed Colombian Daniel Martinez, now a resident of the Ineos Grenadiers, winner of the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2020, while he was still playing in the EF Pro Cycling jersey? Response from Sunday May 30th. This Monday, the route of the 2021 edition of the prestigious cycling event was unveiled. If the French stage race, which will experience its 73rd edition this year, will indeed start on May 30,, around Issoire in the Puy-de-Dôme department, it will end a week later, on Sunday June 6, in Les Gets. The first stage will already be particularly steep and should therefore not be promised to a sprinter. It should also be noted that the fourth stage will be an individual time trial, 16.4 kilometers long and contested between the municipalities of Firminy and Roche-la-Molière.

At that time, first indications should appear as to potential future outsiders for the final title. But the final outcome of this event should indeed be decided during the last three stages, particularly formidable and which will all take place in the mountains. On Saturday, the finish in La Plagne will be judged after 17.1 kilometers of ascent with average slopes of 7.5%. Finally, the final finish of this edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné will therefore be in Les Gets, in the department of Haute-Savoie. In the meantime, various particularly prestigious passes will be climbed. Among these, we can notably mention the Col du Pré, the Aravis, the Colombière without forgetting in particular the Joux Plane.
