The young Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz placeholder image, number 55 in the world, beat the German in five sets 5-7, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 and 6-0 this Sunday Peter Gojowczyk, 141 in the ATP standings, and made it to the quarterfinals of the United States Open (US Open).

While the Argentine Diego schwartzman, eleventh seeded, lost to the Dutch classified Botis van de Zandschulp, in five sets by 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 5-7 and 6-1.
The European player will be Medvedev’s rival in the quarter-final match.
