That a current prominent social network or service like TikTok, Spotify or Tinder immediately becomes a drama on the networks. But if those three mentioned and others like Pinterest fall at the same time and they start reporting bugs at the same time, so it’s the apocalypse for a lot of people. And that has precisely happened a few hours ago, with the three networks and services reporting problems from their users.
Tinder, TikTok, Spotify, massive drops
A look at the DownDetector website on Spotify for example reveals an unexpected spike in failure which has lasted from noon to 3 in the afternoon. And so not only with the four mentioned above, but with several more according to The Verge website. Considering they are from several different companies, what was the reason? Facebook.
Facebook has recognized a “sudden spike “ of errors in third-party applications caused by your iOS SDK, a developer software development tool that distributes so that other apps can use its services, in this case to login and log in. And this has led to cause massive crash issues and service issues in dozens of third-party apps. All because of that SDK.
Second time in 2 months
In its live developer website, Facebook has recognized the error, which started “7 hours ago” and that in the last web update, which happened 2 hours ago, is marked as “In research”. Most of the affected apps already work well and are not giving problems. But it should be noted that this is not the first time this has happened, that due to the Facebook SDK the services of other apps fall, because It already happened in May of this 2020.
A couple of months ago there was a massive crash on Spotify, TikTok, Pinterest, Tinder and GrubHub, due to a change made by the company in its development kit. Will they fix it right this time, or will we still see more falls?
