Finally, the day has come when Apple’s first keynote of the year dedicated to product launch has taken place. The Cupertino company has focused this time on two of its main product ranges, the ones that have had the most impact in these strangest times: Apple Watch and iPad, with a magnificent iPad Air as its flag. In both cases, the launches have completely changed the lines, and the first to do so has been the Apple Watch Series 6.

The Apple Watch Series 6 is a renewal that does not radically change the fundamentals of the Apple Watch or its designInstead, it tries to improve it in an incredible way with small but noticeable improvements. Thus, we have the most powerful watch to date, with an even clearer focus, if possible, on health. And with new colors that will undoubtedly tempt many of those who remained with previous models of this one.
A new range of designs for everyday life
One of the main requests from users over the years has been the addition of new colors to the Apple Watch collection. This year, with the new Series 6, we will receive colors such as electric blue or, for the first time, a PRODUCT (RED) edition, with an aluminum box in a red that will delight users. A new graphite color is also added to the steel Apple Watch
Integrated oximeter to continue improving our health
The new Apple Watch Series 6 integrates a crucial sensor to continue to know the general state of our health. With the new oximeter, the watch will be able to detect oxygen saturation level that is in blood, a key index for the correct performance of our body. And all this, as always, will be recorded in the Health app, both the continuous measurements made during sleep, and those made through the new Oxygen app.
The S6: up to 20% faster than the Series 5
After a somewhat slower generation in terms of performance improvement, the Apple Watch Series 6 brings with it a new SiP S6, based on the A13 chip. After managing to carry some of the features of the SoC that dominates the iPhone 11 Pro, the new S6 achieves up to a 20% difference in performance compared to its predecessor. Plus, it provides first-time fast charging and better energy efficiency, enabling an always-on display with even higher brightness.
In recent years, the design of the Apple Watch straps had become somewhat … stagnant. Although new colors and small variations were added, there were no big news. This year, not only are some of the watch’s best-known straps renewed, such as the leather loop or Nike straps; furthermore, we find a new strap called Solo Loop. The Solo Loop is a continuous strap from start to finish that fits perfectly to each wrist, and is made of both silicone and braided thread.
