Actor Tom Felton, whom most will remember for his role as Draco Malfoy in the film saga of Harry Potter, worried his fans after he collapsed during a golf tournament prior to the Ryder Cup, a biennial event where teams from Europe and the United States face off.
According to Comic Book, English media reported the incident, and fans sent their best vibes to the actor. Alleged photographs showed him lying on the ground and surrounded by his companions, before he was treated by doctors. Felton has not commented and neither have the event organizers, but we hope he is feeling better.
Felton made his debut in 1997 at The Borrowers, and shortly after he landed the role of his life in Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone – 80%. After his time in Harry Potter, the actor has had participation in the tapes Planet of the Apes (R) evolution – 82%, In Secret – 41%, To United Kingdom – 83% and Megan Leavey – 84%, among others.
Yesterday the actor turned 34 years old, and through Twitter he thanked his fans for all the support he has received and the one he continues to receive:
33 years old – OMG it’s been a lot of fun getting here – yet somehow I still feel like the best is yet to come – thank you all for your love, support and sense of humor – let’s keep something good going – to the next 33.
Even though Malfoy started out as a generic villain, he ended up as a very interesting character, haunted between his family heritage, his loyalty to his parents, and what his own conscience dictated was correct. At the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II – 96% of us were able to see it together with the adult versions of the other characters, with a family of their own.
The Harry Potter saga has captivated millions of people for more than 20 years; since the launch of the first book, which was a bestseller, but with the arrival of Harry potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to the cinema in 2001, millions more people approached the work of JK Rowling. In the next ten years, another seven films were released that, despite not receiving great accolades, won the majority approval of critics and fans. Featuring Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II – 96% ended an era for fans of the saga, although five years later Fantastic Animals would arrive, a spin-off that has a premiere sequel and one in development that will hit theaters in 2022.
One of the great lessons of Harry Potter for the generation that grew up reading the books and watching the movies, is tolerance and respect are very important values, and for that reason it was a disappointment for many fans to discover last year that Rowling puts their efforts to discredit trans people. Certain sections of the fandom tried to excuse her, but she made her reactionary stance clear with the publication of an essay suggesting that trans women are a danger to real women.
