Do not miss it: Netflix premieres in October 2021
Season 4 is being promoted by the company in style, with mentions about the famous tournament that was seen in the movies and in the series, referring to the fact that this time the battle will be “for the soul of the valley” and not a tournament like any other. There is less to go until the new episodes are released and Netflix presented new content related to the Karate Kid franchise series at TUDUM, the global event it prepared for this Saturday where in addition to what it presented of Cobra Kai, also shared new details about other original productions like Stranger Things – 76% and The Umbrella Academy – 93%.
The trailer has also revealed that the fourth season premieres on Netflix on December 31, 2021. In the season three finale, we saw how this became the first time that Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) seemed to line up more and start fighting on the same side. They each had their own journeys that season, between Daniel’s trip to Okinawa to save his dealership and Johnny on his nostalgic trip with Ali (Elisabeth Shue) in the midst of realizing his true role as sensei.
At the end of the season, both Daniel and Johnny face John Kreese (Martin Kove) in Cobra Kai and decide that they will finish the fight in the next All-Valley Tournament. Also, Robby (Tanner Buchanan) was going through a really tough time after the accident that put Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) in the hospital and nearly paralyzed him. Robby was primarily on the defensive, taking Daniel and Johnny’s attempt to help him as personal attacks and betrayals. At the end of the season, he ended up in the care of John Kreese, who has taken him under his wing and to build his Cobra Kai team.

Josh Heald, one of the co-creators of Cobra Kai, told Collider during his appearance at the Paley Front Row event that season four will be bigger than anything they have done so far. The streaming giant confirmed that there will be a fifth season and that the fourth would begin filming in the fall of this year in Atlanta, but Heald gave an idea of what fans of the series can expect in the following episodes:
All I can say is that it was very important for us to finish season three like we did with a kind of yes! as a feeling as opposed to “oh” where the second season was, and we want to fulfill that feeling. We want to continue providing the dopamine that generates that good feeling. We want to make sure that we are meeting the goose bumps, tears, laughter, and punching. It’s the same recipe with different tastes and everything in between, but it’s even bigger so we’re very, very proud of what we’ve been making so far. I can’t wait for you to see what we are all doing.
