The vaccine against covid-19 is already being applied to some sectors of the population in our country, such as the elderly, all as part of the efforts to combat this pandemic that has claimed the lives of thousands of people in our territory.
To support the fight, the private sector raises its hand, and this is the case of Uber, which this week announced that it will offer free rides and discounts to its users who have confirmed their appointment to receive the vaccine.
“At Uber we remain committed to moving what matters most today, and we believe our technology can help make the largest global immunization campaign in history a success. In coordination with the authorities, Uber will facilitate the access of Mexicans to the benefits of vaccines against Covid-19 in a fast, effective way and in accordance with official guidelines, ”said Gretta González, general director of shared trips in Mexico, of Uber.
This initiative, is given in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, users will receive from this week a special code from the same application.
According to the company, in an initial stage, 200,000 discounted trips will be made available to the population to support the vaccination of the elderly.
According to Uber, this effort is part of the company’s strategy to combat the pandemic, in which it contributes 10 million free or discounted trips through the application to gain access to the vaccine.
