Sources of the negotiation have specified to Efe that, after a maratoria meeting, which started in the morning and lasted until almost two in the morning, the mediator suffered an indisposition and both parties agreed to continue the negotiation today at 11 am .
Late yesterday, Nissan offered the unions to close the Free Zone plant in December 2021 if a global agreement is reached in the other points and production of the plants resumes the last week of August, as they explained to Efe sources close to the negotiation.
The management of Nissan and the company committee held a meeting yesterday to discuss the closure of the Barcelona plants of the Japanese multinational in which officials from the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Business participated in the afternoon.
There, the Government asked Nissan to postpone until at least December 2021 the closure of the factories of Zona Franca, Montcada i Reixac and Sant Andreu de la Barca, with the aim of giving more time to look for new industrial projects that allow the activity to be maintained. and employment in these plants.
