Santander, Aug 31 . .- The Minister of Culture and Sports, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, announced this Monday that the protocol of measures to prevent the spread of covid-19 in non-professional sports will be ready this week.
To questions from journalists about the restart of grassroots sports competitions during a visit to Santander, Rodríguez Uribes has defended that the will of the Government is for Spain to move forward in all areas, although “with all precautions, prudence and responsibility that falls to all “, has pointed out.
In addition, he pointed out that the protocol defined with the autonomous communities for non-professional sports, especially team and contact sports, “will surely see the light this week”, after a meeting of the CSD with the general directors of sports.
This protocol, as specified by Rodríguez Uribes, will allow national and interregional competitions to be played, while in order for competitions to be played again at the level of each region, he has recalled that the competitions belong to the autonomous governments.
It is a question, he added, of defining rules that guarantee equal opportunities between communities for the return to competition, although he insisted that “everything will depend on the evolution of the pandemic.”
