OWe know it: after the questions about the speed with which vaccines were “invented”, it is now the alleged slowness of their administration that gives rise to many comments, as well as the variable pace from one country to another … “I understand the impatience”, acknowledged Tuesday the boss of the Directorate General for Health of the European Commission, Sandra Gallina. It is she, the chief negotiator of the vaccine contracts negotiated with the laboratories, on behalf of the Twenty-Seven.
Gallina was put to the question by MEPs active on public health issues. They were curious to obtain “more transparency and clarity” on these “deals”, shrouded in contractual confidentiality. The contracts have been negotiated by the Commission, but the responsibility for the orders and vaccination lies with the authorities of the EU Member States.
