Although not with the power of its live-action series, Marvel Studios continues to present weekly episodes of What If …? – 84%, an anthology series that shows different adventures for the characters we all know, very different scenarios from those already seen in the MCU. Chapter 6 appeared in the catalog today and the reactions are drawing everyone’s attention: it seems that most did not like the treatment directed towards Tony Stark. Be careful, we will place spoilers in the following paragraphs.

Iron Man rose as one of the most important heroes in the entire MCU. Although in the comics the leader is Captain America, Tony Stark was treated as the star image due to Robert Downey Jr.’s seniority in the saga. The character gained millions of followers in his more than ten years of intervention in the great adventure, and they all hurt when we witnessed his death in Avengers: Endgame – 95%, a sacrifice for the life of the universe that fans will never forget.
Tony Stark is a recurring character in the chapters of What If…?However, Marvel Studios has killed him in all his interventions, including the most recent. Chapter 6, What If … Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark? (What if … Killmonger rescued Tony Stark?), Is causing severe reactions among fans of Iron Man, who cannot believe that Marvel Studios has decided to kill him one more time in the middle of the action. The character is killed by Eric Killmonger and fans of the series are outraged by the decision.

Along with death in Avengers: Endgame, that of chapter 3 for a lethal injection, that of episode 5 in the Marvel Zombies special, and now with Killmonger, fans think that Marvel Studios has repudiated Iron Man, and that is precisely why it seeks to get rid of him most number of times possible. On the other hand, there are those who agree that the company loves Tony, but uses What If…? to exploit other versions of the character, after all, the Infinity Saga was full of heroic acts in which Iron Man was always the protagonist. A twist of the screw doesn’t hurt anyone.
The first season of What If…? It is made up of nine episodes, so there are still another four waiting for us on the Disney Plus platform. Marvel Studios has already declared that the series is completely canon in the MCU, although it is necessary to mention that each story takes place in its own universe. Remember that the multiverse was already “activated” during the final chapter of Loki – 96%, all thanks to Sylvie’s actions, and that very soon we will witness the consequences and the scope.
The next chapter of What If…? It will hit the Disney Plus platform on September 22. Here are some tweets that disagree with the treatment of Tony Stark on the show or that praise the work itself:
Episode six of What If…? exceed expectations once again. Michael B. Jordan is excellent as Killmonger and reminds us why he is one of the most compelling villains in Black Panther. I really thought Disney + would restrict how far Marvel could go… NOPE. 10/10 episode. Love it.

I think Marvel is killing Tony Stark in every episode just to remind us that his death was inevitable or maybe an outright point. It means that Iron Man will never return.
