White House economic adviser says US-China trade deal “is going well”

WASHINGTON, Aug 11 (.) – China continues to buy US goods and particularly raw materials under the “phase 1” trade deal signed in January, despite rising tensions over Hong Kong and other issues, the US economic adviser said on Tuesday. the White House, Larry Kudlow.

Asked whether the deteriorating ties on other fronts between the world’s two largest economies could cause the trade agreement to be scrapped, Kudlow said “no, no.”

“The only area in which we are engaged is trade,” he assured the media gathered at the White House. “It’s going well for now.”
