2021 is just starting and we already have a lot of exciting news, at least within the gamer universe. Not even the coronavirus pandemic stopped this industry and from what we see, this year will not be the exception either, because they have many surprises in store for all of us. That is just the case with Nintendo, who announced with great fanfare an extremely special and somewhat mysterious event.

As you may recall, the Japanese company raffled off a few weeks ago releasing an update to Super Mario 3D World – which was originally from the Wii – and a new title, Bowser’s Fury. Both games arrived on the Switch and since then we have waited for them to release more information about those projects they have been working on all this time and finally, after a long wait, we know what they have in their hands.

Nintendo kicks off with all of 2021

Last Tuesday, Nintendo informed us that on February 17 it would be holding one of its most important events of the year, the Direct. For obvious reasons, they had to adapt to the health crisis, that is why they decided to do everything virtually. However, and although we were all following him from a distance, that did not take away the emotion at all, because we expected very strong games and other very special announcements.

The company mentioned it from the beginning, all of this was aimed at two things: reveal news about titles we all know, What Super Smash Bros. The Switch will have a ton of games

Nintendo Direct started with everything, and that the event would last 50 minutes. With no time to lose and throwing the house out the window, They showed us that Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be the new fighters of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which will hit the game in March. Of course they didn’t leave us empty-handed, well, too They let us see some of their powers and even a special stage.

Continuing with the surprises, they announced that Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout coming to Nintendo Switch in summer 2021. Later we had a little look at games like Outer Wilds, two titles of Famicom Detective Club who will be on this side of the pond for the first time from May 14, Samurai Warriors 5 or Legend of mana; while Capcom was present with a spectacular game, Monster Hunter Rise.

Of course, Nintendo could not forget the good Mario, that is why it will also have a new game for the Switch, Mario Golf Super Rush, what It will premiere on June 25 with a lot of gestures within the controller to create a unique experience, as if you were playing on a real field. What happened to Zelda?

So we can only wait.

However, they did not leave us empty-handed, because they revealed that The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, the title that originally debuted on the Wii will have a remastering for the Switch. As if this wasn’t enough, they also showed some special edition joycon, that will come decorated with elements that remind us of our protagonist. They will be able to enjoy the game and the controls starting July 16.
